Nataša Majer
Nataša is a freelance illustrator based in Slovenia where she studied design and textile materials. Under the mentorship of Associate Professor Vojmir Pogačar, academic painter, Nataša completed her master's thesis titled “A Concept of the Fabric Picture Book,” for which she received the Slovenian National Design Award.
During her studies, Nataša participated in drawing classes and art courses, including painting, linocut, dry point, Japanese woodcut, kitchen lithography, and creative writing.
Nataša furthered her education through courses in Children’s Picture Book Illustration and Developing Children’s Picture Books at the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration. Additionally, she benefited from monthly online mentoring sessions with educator, author, and illustrator Claire Alexander.
Nataša regularly attends webinars, online classes, and events. Her work often explores gentle emotional storytelling, nature‑inspired themes, and the interplay between illustration and tactile materials.
In 2025, a series of Nataša’s illustrations was longlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2025.
In October 2025, Nataša was awarded for her illustration and design work on the children’s picture book Gozdni Bonton (Forest Etiquette), recognized nationally as Slovenia’s Best Self-Published Children’s Picture Book of 2024.
