Lola Jessen, a Senior at the University of Northern Iowa, is studying Communication, Art, and Literary Publishing. Lola aspires to become an editor at a book publishing company and design book covers. She serves as the Social Media Intern for Essie White Literary where she creates Instagram posts promoting books, events, and the authors and illustrators who Essie White represents.

Lola grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis, surrounded by art and parents who fostered her love of reading. Throughout her years in school, Lola often heard her teachers express appreciation for her love of reading but also, a desire to see her actually pay attention during lessons!

When Lola is not in class or working, she enjoys creating drawings for commissions. She also reads a lot, all genres of books; her favorite being contemporary. 

Lola loves her internship with Essie White Literary and hopes to continue doing similar work in the future, as she supports the successes of the talented authors and illustrators within the agency.
