María José de Tellería is a graphic designer, illustrator and author of children's books. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She loves being surrounded by books, stories and drawing and is currently studying creative writing as well as teaching illustration at the university where she earned her undergraduate degree.

María José is an award winning illustrator who has published books in Argentina, EEUU, Austria and Italy.

Her illustrations were selected and showcased at the Bologna Children’s Fair in 2016, 2021 and 2023.

She also exhibited at Iberoamérica Ilustra in 2017, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

María José’s illustrations have been selected for the BIBF Ananas International Illustration Exhibition Catalogue of the Beijing Book Fair 2020.

The book, Wer als Erster, written by Michael Hammerschmid and illustrated by María José, was published by Jungbrunnen in Austria and subsequently won the award for best children's book for young people in Austria in 2023.

In addition, her project Where? received an honorable mention in the Clairvoyants International Book Competition 2021.

Her book Dicen que... won the Soy autor de libro álbum contest in Argentina in 2021.
