Gloria Mwaniga Minage Odary
Gloria Mwaniga Minage Odary is a novelist, essayist, educator and children’s writer.
She grew up in a blue house full of books, music, siblings, and stories and thereafter, spent eight years teaching high school Geography and Business Studies.
Minage is a recipient of the 2019 Miles Morland writing scholarship and a graduate of Chimamanda Adichie’s writing workshop. Her work has appeared in The East African and Nation newspapers, Johannesburg Review of Books, Writivism Prize Anthology (Sundown), Praxis Magazine, Munyori Literary Review and AMKA among others.
She splits her time between two towns: Kakamega, her muse town and the place where she goes to listen to family stories and a hermitage in Nairobi where she hides in order to write.
When not reading and writing, Minage loves to travel to new places where she can learn new cultures and eat strange foods. Someday, she will grow a flower garden with Tiger Lilies, Nandi Flames, and bright bougainvillea bushes.

Minage is represented by Essie White.
