Gloria Mwaniga Minage Odary
Gloria Mwaniga Odary, a writer and educator from Kenya, is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Memphis and Managing Editor of the Pinch Literary Journal. She has taught Literary Heritage: Creative Writing and English Composition & Rhetoric to freshmen.
Odary is a recipient of the 2024 Georgia Review Prose Prize, the 2024 Isele Magazine Nonfiction Prize, the 2021 African Land Policy Centre Story Prize and the 2019 Miles Morland Writing Scholarship. Her work has appeared in The Georgia Review, Isele, Weganda Review, Lolwe, The Johannesburg Review of Books, The White Review, CRAFT, Porter House Review, and elsewhere.
Odary has also written children’s books and worked as a literary journalist and book reviewer for the Daily Nation and The East African newspapers.
