Bibi Senthi

Bibi is a British Tamil making picture books in the North of England.

Her stories are inspired by everything from the majestic moon to microscopic moss - especially her enchanting little nieces.

Her author debut "The Sounds that Shelter Me" (August 2026, Magination Press), illustrated by Felishia Henditirto, combines Bibi’s experiences of sensory overload and delight with her love of the sights and sounds of Tamil music and dance. Watching Tamil films past her bedtime with Appa or in the afternoon with Amma, and running round the garden singing with her sisters are some of her favourite childhood memories.

Bibi uses her experiences of disability and neurodivergence to work in mental health research, and volunteers as a reader for The Word Editor-Writer Mentorship Programme. She was selected as a WriteMentor mentee in Summer 2022.

She has a PhD in biological sciences, keeps a list of all the rainbows she sees, and her favourite feeling is awe.
